Job Description

Position Purpose & Summary

This position sets the overall strategic direction and provides leadership on commercial responsibilities for Grains & Oilseeds business in Malaysia The position is primarily accountable for managing the cash franchise, customer partnerships, local merchandising positions, local distribution, supply chain management, business development and deliver the destination PNL
Key responsibilities include leading
Local commercial team comprising merchandising,Sales/marketing,Supply Chain & TE functions andPartnering with the Regional product lines andStrategic/Key customers including inhouse customer BU’s to maximize business profitability and build sustainability in volume and PNL

Principal Accountabilities

Commercial Strategy & Business Growth (40%)
Lead Commercial functions and provide strategic inputs and execution support to achieve commercial objectives and goals for the Grains, Oilseeds/Proteins and NGFI product linesDrive future focused growth strategy with specific impetus on building cash franchise, business sustainability through various customer segments by balancing the CNF volume and profitability, maximizing local trading opportunities through domestic distribution and building supply chain management solutions from the port facilities & warehousesLead game plans with the regional product lines to maximize CNF volume and local Handling opportunitiesChampion long term competitive positioning, supply chain superiority, cost efficiencies with the goal to maximize business profitabilityExpanding market and customer networks and explore commercial opportunities in new products and new customer segments for local handling and distribution program

Destination Risk Management & PNL (30%)
Responsible for delivering destination PNL comprising Handling, SCM, and Local Distribution/Merchandising/Trading activities for grains, proteins/oilseeds and NGFIClose collaboration with ANF and FRM for timely PNL forecasts and enhancing financial performance through effectively managing GI, ROGI, SGA, Forex, … etcWork with the merchandizing team to manage local slate positions, product line trading and distribution risk management strategies to ensure full alignment and compliance for MalaysiaDaily PNL forecast and risk management for local slate positionsManage customer limits, exposure and performance for both CNF and Distribution programClose collaboration with regional GTA on SND to effectively build Vietnam SND and effectively integrate it with the local trading game plansDevelop strong market linkages for capturing market insights, macro factors and trends, industry practices and regulatory policies to build effective strategies and commercial game plans and effectively integrate with the Regional product linesOversee the destination risk management from local environment (Government policies and Regularly framework), customer exposures and build effective relationships with various destination stakeholders

Customer Partnerships (20%)
Build customer focused culture and customer engagement & relationship management capabilities in the teamDirectly oversee the Strategic Account Plans for the targeted Strategic and Key customers and drive strategies and tactical plans to build high customer engagementBuild the Added Value Solutions portfolio for the business and lead solution deployment for building deeper customer partnerships for both inhouse and outhouse customers for all product linesFocused approach to build long term customer partnership Directly manage the anchor customer’s top leadership team
Team Building, Collaboration, Regulatory (10%)
Oversee local Merchandising, Sales/Marketing, Supply Chain and Trade Execution functionsBuild strong talent pool across the commercial team to deliver the business objectives and resultsProvide leadership to build a strong collaborative work culture with the other supporting functions and BU’s and foster connectivity and collaboration with the product lines and WTG/Singapore/Origin stakeholders within CASC Enterprise as well as other BU’s and GroupsEffectively engage regulatory stakeholders and government bodies as needed for managing business risks & maximizing opportunities from external environment and policies framework

Education, Experience, Skills

Required Qualifications
Minimum University Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or International Business or related fields10 years of sales, marketing, commercial business management experienceTrading commodities for import and export; sales of agricultural productsProven record on business / commercial strategy developmentSolid dealing in a business to business commercial environmentKnowledge of grains market, world supply and demand for feed ingredients, local supply and demand for feed ingredients, knowledge of the feed and livestock sectorAbility to challenge the status quo and provide new perspective, ideasAdaptability to operate in a multicultural, diverse, geographically disperse organizationMarketing practices knowledgeableEffective communication with people at all levels
