Job Description

Position Purpose & Summary

The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving the sustainable growth in West Malaysia primarily in broiler, breeder and swine This role requires one to possess a unique blend of business acumen, strong local market knowledge and know-how (including the industry, players, products) and accountability to achieve country targets The Commercial Manager will work closely in partnership with the Country Director to build a strong local talent, deliver value, and build effective business relationships with customers for a sustainable business

Principal Accountabilities

Developing and Building Effective Teams (30%)- Develops and implements an integrated talent management program to attract, retain and develop top sales professionals and to ensure optimum level of workforce engagement Champions and deploys the “Cargill Sales Framework” and drives team work culture and alignment to goals Identifies and develops key talent to support future business needs through coaching and development programs

Driving Profitable Growth (30%)- Partners with cross functional teams to execute on pricing policies to drive profitable growth by identifying opportunities in margin management with the understanding of COGS, product positioning, competition, and market opportuinties and constraints

Business Development (30%) – Identifies and leads the development of new business opportunities or models such as increasing wallet share of current customers, acquiring prospect customers, and/or expanding into the value chain through alliance partnership by collaborating with cross-functional teams and by leveraging industry stakeholders to accelerate business growth

Market Inteligence (10%)– Monitors industry trends across value chain and changes in needs of customers and provides input to cross-functional teams such as SMT, RMS, and BOSC to translate into improvements or new developments in products and services offerings

Education, Experience, Skills

Required QualificationsMinimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiencesAt least 8 to 10 years of successful experience in a Commercial / Business Development roleAnimal Nutrition or adjacent industriesAbility to engage with and influence across-functional teams to support own team’s agendaStrong Sales and business acumen in identifying business opportunities and make profitable dealsProven capability in building and developing strong sales team – coaching, motivating, holding team able and accountableCompetent in dealing with external parties (customers, large accounts, traders, local authorities, government agencies)Commercial skills, ie negotiation skills, conceptual selling skills, value based sellingCoaching, Team Building skill

Preferred Qualifications
Mandarin/Chinese dialects will be an advantage due to customer profile
