Job DescriptionSummaryThis position is responsible for editorial support on IHS Markit content both for online and print titles The main focus is to maintain and enhance the quality and consistency of editorial content by editing and checking online and hardcopy text ensuring it is clear and concise and written in accordance with the company style giving constructive feedback as required to editorial desks The post holder will work as part of an expanded global copy editing team supporting content across a number of titles and brands Responsibilities Edit content as directed by the team lead and with direction from EMEA and US Copy Editor Managers Edit Chemical content special reports and dossiers to agreed deadlines ensuring adherence to house style Ensure reports are kept up-to-date Check copy for consistency and style writing headlines stand firsts and crossheads Turn around daily online news promptly Ensure deadlines are met Lay out news pages and features using InDesign Ensure adherence to house styleKnowledge Skills and Abilities and bull Degree Level or equivalent education BA in English Journalism Communication or NCTJ equivalent and bull 1-3 years of professional sub editing experience or fresh graduates and bull InDesign and Creative Suite experience preferred and bull Content Management System experience preferred and bull Familarity with Microsoft Office and bull Excellent communication and organisational skills and bull Excellent standard of written and spoken English and bull Ability to work as a team and to work accurately under pressure and bull Ability to meet tight deadlines and display a strong degree of flexibility
