Basic Job Functions:• Responsible for coordinating the activities under Trade Compliance for KLM import /export such as adherence to domestic and international rules & regulations, governing import/export activities and to maintain accurate customs related record keeping for inbound and outbound shipments.• Assist in the management of the LMW process of imported items and preparation of Customs documents for movement of goods from LMW to LMW/ bonded warehouse.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:• Contact for Malaysian day-to-day import/export activities• Ensure KLM’s adherence to domestic and international regulations governing import/export activities• Determine applicable Harmonized Tariff Codes for imports and exports.• Interface with Global Compliance in the maintenance and administration of comprehensive HTS database for bill of material, spares, capital equipment and strategic materials.• Maintain accurate customs related recordkeeping for inbound and outbound shipments• Ensure Malaysian Customs Authority and MITI guidelines followed by vendors, purchasing, brokers, and customers.• Monitor and screen all service provider reports covering imports and exports for entry data elements, i.e. IOR, classification, value• Aid in company training on import/export compliance.• Develop standard work procedures related to Customs, Trade & Compliance requirements• Support and participate in import/export compliance team initiatives and Global Compliance CouncilIMPORTS• Assist in the management of the LMW process of imported items and associated reporting to Malaysian Customs Authorities. Ensure exemption approval is in place• Support import entry post-audit process to ensure compliance to proper valuation, classification and other government requirements• Recordkeeping: Support the maintenance of inbound and outbound documentation for all plants.EXPORTS• Assist in the preparation of Customs reports and documents as needed for movement of goods from LMW to LMW, LMW to bonded warehouse, special documents based on customs requirement• Audit import & export documents on weekly, monthly or quarterly basis based on SOP requirement• Comply with Strategic Trade Act and First Solar Inc. policy on regulations relative to export shipments.• Screen non-SAP shipments against embargoed and sanctioned party lists• Support customs random audits as deemed necessary by Malaysian customsExperience:• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working in international trade compliance and logistics.• Experience with Royal Malaysian Customs Department and MITI• Experience in Malaysian and international trade compliance.• Experience using Global Harmonized Tariff Schedule.• Experience in Customs/Trade software is a plus..Education:• Diploma or Degree (international trade, commerce or technical degree is a plus)
