Primary Responsibilities:Designs, implements, and administers corporate database systems of varying complexity. Ensures integration of systems through best practices.Consults with and advises developers and business users of various database technologies.May collaborate in projection of long-range database design with IT management.Provide reliable database services to the business through the use of appropriate backup and recovery techniques and disaster recovery scenario testing.Ensure databases and data are secure through compliance with governmental and corporate policies and standards.Stays current with and provides leadership/direction to the corporation in the use of new or emerging technologies.Makes recommendations for improvement on IT or business-related issues.Applies good project planning/project management skills to work independently and manage multiple assignments and priorities.Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Passion for permanent corrective action and root cause analysis.Required abilities:Min 5 years’ experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in support of enterprise level ERP applications.Mastery of logical data modeling concepts and how they relate to the implementation of a physical database environment.Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Database monitoring, performance tuning, tool utilization, backup & recovery, capacity planning and troubleshooting techniques.Desired abilities:Oracle database technologies, preferably in support of SAP ERP systems. Experience with Oracle Exadata Cloud @ Customer is a plus.Microsoft SQL ServerSAP HANASSRS or other ad hoc query reporting toolsConsulting SkillsNegotiation SkillsDemonstrated ability to learn, assimilate and apply new business related information as well as technology related informationStrong customer orientation (for both internal and external customers)Four-year degree in a related discipline preferred, Oracle Certified Professional a plus, Microsoft Certified Database Professional a plus.
