Job Summary Provide management and guidance to multi-functional project teams Manage and enhance customer relationships Provide single-point-of-contact to customer for all design-related activities Provide full accountability for project budgets and schedules Technically capable of developing, managing and delivering very highly complex technology projects or running multiple projects simultaneously This includes developing complex SOW, business proposals, project schedule / financials, and managing multiple global projects and or dedicated to a single customer or product domain May lead other Project Managers
Essential Duties & Responsibilities -Responsible for ensuring all of the project's technological requirements and/or objectives are correctly gathered, understood and properly translated for executionResponsible for project risk reviews and appropriate mitigationResponsible for facilitating communication as appropriate to all involved and "manage" the stakeholdersResponsible for forecasting project budget and HR needs for current and future site needsAccountable for overall project success - including cost, schedule, quality, and scope managementAccountable for customer satisfaction / relationship both internal and externalAbility to form and lead strong multi-functional teams to achieve company and customer objectivesAssist with business and/or contract negotiationsAdvise Senior and Regional PM on overall financial health of all programs being managedProvide support with identifying and preparing new business proposalsKnow, define, develop, and impliment the strategic direction of division or workcellProvide regular updates to Business Unit on the execution of the strategyEnsure all products and services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements and are on time and within budgetConduct formal design reviews with customers to ensure design(s) meet customer design requirements Recruit, interview and assist in the hiring process of other Project ManagersAssist in monitoring team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvementsAssist in identifying individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basisCreate and/or validate training curriculum for lower level project managersCoach and mentor lower level project management staffAssist in managing succession plans for the project management functionSolicit ongoing feedback from Business Unit, peers and team member on team member’s contribution to the teamDrive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goalsProvide weekly communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information for projects including project status, resolving project issues, problems, and changesOrganize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style with utilization of presentation or database softwareIdentify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (ie modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems)Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trendsCompare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysisEnsure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately
Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Management requiredPlus 7 to 10 work years experience in Project ManagementPMP Certification requiredWith a minimum of 2 years experience as Project Manager II Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or trainingExtensive travel 75% plus on site deployment required
