Job Description

The Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) is responsible for achieving the goals of maximum revenue and profit and the operations of the sales and marketing department This position involves managing multiple properties and will directly supervise sales and marketing, reservations, and revenue teams Collaborating with the Hotel General Manager and Area Sales Manager, the DOSM will articulate and demonstrate a commitment to the goals through work ethic, integrity, and passion It is the responsibility of the DOSM to keep up with the market trends, and proactively respond to the financial performance of each property, provide strategic direction for the team and ensure achievement of the group’s short and long term goals

Main Responsibilities





Lead and execute all sales and marketing efforts





Accountable for the financial achievements of all established goals and/or budgets across all properties





Provides coaching, mentoring and training to the entire sales and marketing team





Creates and execute effective sales and marketing plans to meet or exceed established revenue goals





Develop the annual sales and marketing budget and manage the spending within approved budgets





Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required





Consistently monitoring the competition and movements in the marketplace and make deployment and/or pricing recommendations





Be able to understand and interpret market conditions, trends, and competition by analyzing STR data and sales reports





Evaluate all business opportunities for profitability and overall benefit to the hotels





Represent the hotel group in the various community and industry related events and/or functions





Ability to effectively listen, communicate and perform diplomacy with internal and external customers and staff in all situations





Submit the required weekly, monthly, and annual reports to the Directors and General Manager Analyse data for trends, corrective action, rate maximization, etc





Research new markets as required to understand and make recommendations to new hotel developments





Involve in managing new hotel projects and the successful opening of new hotels

Conduct and/or participate in the required meetings





Perform other duties as assigned







Required



Candidate must possess at least Master's Degree in Marketing, Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel Management or equivalent

Required language(s)English

At least 5Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position

Required Skill(s) Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management

Preferably Senior Manager specialized in Hotel Management/Tourism Services or equivalent

Candidate must be willing to relocate to Wellington, New Zealand
