Job Description

Marketing is the owner of driving Shell Purpose and Specialities Mission embedded in the business and support the business to effectively implement Specialities’ strategy to meet its ambitions & goals. Marketing also sits in the heart of the strategic response of Customer Centricity with the aim to generate customer centric insights, develop fit-for-purpose offers, drive overall sales growth leveraging premium offering, brand & advocacy and strategic customer relations with repeated nature. All these will need to be supported by compelling and effective external and internal communications and engagements.

This position is expected to deliver this at global level and support & guide the regional/ local teams to deliver the same. Also, this position is expected to support Global Digital Manager to define, develop and implement digitalisation programme which will help uplift the effectiveness of internal & external communications via digital tools.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role are two folds:

External Comms:

Develop a global advocacy toolkit to guide regional/ local teams and to adapt.Deliver compelling comms to external stakeholders for global events, product/ offer launch & campaigns to build Shell brand for both Bitumen and Sulphur.As a core member of Technology Monetisation Programme, develop global advocacy strategy & plan for the solutions, applications & products where applicable.

Internal comms:

Develop compelling & engaging internal visuals, messaging and comms plans for internal communications.

Accountability

Brand ManagementDevelop brand positioning and standard communication properties which can be used by the regions with minimal customization.Develop a repertoire of effective communication mechanisms for delivery of our brand messages to target stakeholders along with some measures to measure effectiveness.Ensure all marketing communications is aligned with Group and DS communications guidelines whilst ensuring they meet the desired tone and brand positioning of both Bitumen and SulphurWork closely with Product Stewardship group on product naming, IP management.AdvocacyAs a core member of Technology Monetisation Programme, work with global Product & solution mkt manager and technical teams to develop global advocacy strategy & plan for the solutions, applications & products where applicableDevelop a global advocacy toolkit to guide regional/ local teams and to adapt to develop effective advocacy strategy & plan for the region.Market ActivationWork with Global/Regional marketing teams to develop sharp messaging of CVPs.Work with Regional teams to customize standard communication materials and help them develop effective communication plans.Support country marketing in CVP implementation (product launches, promotions, customer events, advertising and PR campaigns)Act as SP&A Subject Matter Expert, coordinate global budgets and share cross region best practicesManage third party suppliers and agencies; drive production efficiencies and design synergies.Voice of the CustomerCoordinate Customer surveys (Eg. NPS) to ensure we leverage well the effort made at GC level. Provide single point coordination with GC community on questionnaire design, sampling plan etcUse outcomes to draw meaningful insights relevant to our business, socialize them and track actions.Information ManagementBe specialties eyes and ears on key communications from competition in the market and prepare case of change if it warrants change in our communicationsDevelop standards / best practices to store/share internal information which makes it easier for people to find it and also eliminates duplicationInternal CommunicationsAct as back up to the GC Internal Comms advisor in development and delivery of all internal corporate communicationSupport XLT on specific projects on need basis.Smooth handover from the onshore role to ensure business continuity.Help to enhance the customer centric mindset across the organization, including help to drive customer centric dialogue at leadership level.Leading without formal authority – you will require lots of stakeholders to take action for you without having managerial oversight for themEnsure that there is a clear purpose and outcome from all work you initiateEffectively network with a wide and diverse global & regional communities and understand each of their individual challenges and strategies whilst putting it in the global contextAbility to quickly grasp business issues, work to tight deadlines and balance a variety of projects and issues

Requirements:

6-8 yrs experience in marketing, PR or communications with ideally with strong focus on B2B sectorA good understanding of Global Commercial and Downstream business.Excellent communications skills and fluent in English, especially the ability to research, write, edit and proofread to a professional standard. (both internal and external pieces)Experience working with Shell Creative Services to develop global materials and communications and also ability to advise regional Marketing teams on best practice in material/collateral development.Experience of developing marketing and communications plans, from design and inception to implementation.Proven project management skills. Digital understanding/expertise around website design, portals, sharepoint, social media
