Team leadership
Lead, engage, motivate, support and inspire the Master Data Administrator teamCreate a culture where they can innovate, share best practice and ultimately deliver the best possible customer experienceCommunicate the company’s purpose, core values and visionImprove and build the team, facilitating the communication among its members and create a sense of ownershipLook constantly for development as well as continuous improvement for the entire teamFacilitate cross-functional communication within employees
Team management
Monitor, organize and coach the team on a day-to-day basis
• Manage recruitment, selection, orientation, training, assignment, appraisals, evaluations, coaching, counselling (and disciplining) employees
• Carry out team meetings and actively participate
• Set up performance goals and targets for the team and administer scheduling
• Plan and review compensation actions
• Enforce policies, governance and procedures
DeliveryManage the data set in line with the agreed vision and standardsEnsure delivery of Master Data Management team objectives, by directing their activities for the achievement of set targets and goals
• Devise work schedules, plans and procedures and ensuring compliance from the team

• Handle escalated issues, complaints, questions and queries as necessary
• Identify, recommending and supporting the implementation of various actions and programs for the improvement of team performance
Monitor and report performance
• Identify and articulate reporting requirements, which includes targets, specific data, and anticipated outcomes

• Monitor team performance to ensure that the team goals are met and support the team quality and training efforts
• Produce of clear reporting to accurately demonstrate performance to management and stakeholders by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends
Act as business owner for relevant systems, monitor system performance, identify and resolve problems, prepare action plans, complete system audits, manage system improvements and install/manage upgrades
Improving processes
Identify enhancements to streamline existing master data management processesMaintain and improve process documentation/training materials/procedures
Supporting the business
Understand different business areas and related data management needsProvide business “helpdesk”-type support pertaining to master data management and act as first line support (point of information and escalation) for the businessProvide necessary training to the local data stewards and local power users within the regionBuild and maintain good relationships with the business (eg requestors, local data stewards, etc)Coordinate cleansing and retrofit activities with local data stewardsProvide information and knowledge to business
Personal credibility
Contribute information and analysis to organizational strategic plans and reviewsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in contact centre operations management, master data team management, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societiesFully understand all aspects of the data maintenance processes and use this knowledge to effectively manage the team’s workBuilds teams and acts as a role model in coaching and championing change
Solid knowledge of Enterprise Application Systems (ERP) eg SAP or OracleStrong knowledge of customer care techniques and processesMotivation and management of a different levels of colleagueExperience in successfully communicating to different organizational levels with potential conflicting interestsTeam leadership or management experience and desire to develop these through training and hands-on experience4+ years of master data (senior) management experience Or 2+ years of experience within a service oriented organisation and 2+ years in business analysis or developing standards/ processes/ specification/ policies/etc (may be concurrent)
