Job Description

The Information Governance and Risk Team ensures that country activities and projects are aware of and meet British Council Global policies, Minimum Standards, procedures, UK and local legislation relating to the field of information management to enable the appropriate, secure and effective management of information and records Provides guidance on the exploitation and effective utilisation of information to support greater effectiveness and efficiency

With support from the Regional Head of Information Governance and Risk, the Regional IGRM Manager will be required to implement relevant policy and procedures and any other agreed actions of the Regional IGRM Priorities Plan with a view to develop a sustainable approach to IGRM, implementing and evaluating at a cluster level and in relevant countries

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGSupport the Country Management Team in their roles as Information Asset Owners, providing oversight for their designated countries in the region of information risks that apply to those assets and advising on approaches to effectively manage those risks and opportunities to utilise the information assetImplement relevant policy and procedures and any other agreed actions of the Regional IGRM Priorities Plan with a view to develop a sustainable approach to IGRM, implementing and evaluating at a cluster level and in relevant countriesWork closely with a large variety of stakeholders including Country Management Teams and relevant Business Leads within your clusterSupport in the implementation of information governance, records management and intellectual property initiativesContribute to country projects and operations to help ensure that personal data and other sensitive information and important records are managed effectively in line with Minimum Standards and aim to increase the use of British Council information Assets for appropriate business purposes

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You should possess a University Degree in related areaEssentially, you will have a good insight into all business processes in a given country operation and/or set of cluster countries across all Strategic Business UnitsWorking knowledge of an information management area (eg information governance, information security, Data Protection, records management) is also preferred for this role
