Responsibilities -

Regulatory & Compliance
i)Operational requirements
To ensure the operations of the company’s e-commerce platforms and home-shopping channels, products and contents are in compliance to regulatory requirements and regulations set by authoritiesManage, coordinate and advise on policy and operational matters on product certifications, content compliance, licensing obligations and report submissions to authorities for the company’s business teams as and when requiredCarry out product screening, documents review, follow up & discuss with the company’s business teams on product and supplier evaluationsAssist, manage and advice on compliance to product registrations and applications (including but not limited to food, cosmetics and electrical products)Carry out discussions with business teams on product advertising content so as to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including content for TV programmes, Live shows and online content to ensure content complianceMaintain, follow up and record all regulatory licences and approvals obtained by the companyii)Regulations & lawsTo keep abreast on local and international legislations, guidelines and customer practices for the retail/home shopping/e-commerce industriesProvide advice and support on the impact of new laws and regulations changes to the company and its businessMaintaining open lines of communication with all relevant internal stakeholders and management to keep all parties informed of existing and new laws and regulations affecting and relating to the company’s business and the home shopping industry
Organizational policies
Responsible in creating, implementing, reviewing and drafting related organizational policies, standards and procedures for the company and the business teams to comply with applicable regulationsWork with the company’s Group Regulatory to ensure alignment on Group policies and proceduresManage and coordinate risk management policies including business continuity plans (BCP) from the company’s Group Risk departmentWork with Astro Group OSH team to conduct quarterly exercise and reporting, safety audits and related trainingsTrainingWork with company HODs and develop training and awareness for all relevant stakeholders on updates, changes to regulatory requirementsAttend all relevant trainings and implement related trainings to the business as and when required including training stakeholders on all relevant policies of the Astro GroupParticipate in relevant workshops organized by industry associations on new guidelines and/or regulation updates
Maintain close relationship and communications with the approving authorities and regulators
Develop and maintain close relationship and communications with the approving authorities eg Ministry of Health, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, SIRIM, etcAttend and arrange for meetings with all relevant regulators as and when requiredLiaise with regulatory authorities and the Company’s Legal and Customer Management team on customer complaints that are brought forward by regulatory authorities
Requirements -
Degree in law or science or related degrees with at least 5 years’ experience in regulatory affairs and compliance specialising in consumer productsGood commercial knowledge with experience in consumer product registrations and certifications, or content and media regulations and knowledge of the consumer products industry and advertisement requirementsStrong knowledge and experience in dealing and liaising with government agencies and regulatory bodiesAt least 3-4 years’ experience in retail or commercial environment is preferred particularly product certifications and applicationsGood understanding of retail and/or electronic commerce industries or knowledge of consumer products is required, media and product advertisements
