Purpose of Position:
To develop new business as well as maintain and deepen existing customer relationships through face-to-face sales call in order to achieve personal sales targets and market goals within the small to large-sized customer segment.
New Business Development:Incumbent must close new business with new and existing customers by carrying out the following:Obtain leads for new business through channels such as counter referrals, drivers, Inside Sales, "finder’s keepers", chamber of commerce business lists, and the local newspaperGather information about customers' business products and process, and their transportation challenges through face-to-face contactSeek and identify opportunities to grow the business with existing customersIdentify customers’ needs and develop value propositions to meet those needsCreate a market based pricing structurePrepare a sales proposal to target the needs of customersDeliver sales presentation to persuade potential customers to use FedEx products and/or services
Account Servicing:Incumbent must support existing customers with effective customer education by carrying out the following:Coordinate with internal resources to teach customers how to use FedEx tools and servicesAnswer customer questions about FedEx products or services during sales callCreate and execute implementation plans with the customersMonitor implementation progress to ensure timelines are metIdentify barriers to successful implementation and recommend ways to remove or minimize themTroubleshoot and resolve customers problemsContact customers to find out how well the solutions are meeting their business needsPresent review findings to customers using the available system reporting tool
