Responsibilities and Objectives
Work closely with the Regional Sales Director in order to plan market pipeline and monitor sales functions for the team through reporting and providing regular updates on sales and operational tactics, product positioning, performance monitoring and other assignments
Demonstrate effective leadership qualities in directing the team effort in delivering the execution of the sales plan for the assigned area and customer base, based on market opportunities consistent with the Astoria’s strategic objectives
Support the sales team ensuring that the sales plan and established KPIs are met or exceeded by providing timely support, technical information and guidance, coaching and training as and when necessary
Monitor the sales team’s performance in accordance with established KPIs and sales targets utilising the CRM system, and perform reporting and management review
Work with the product and sales teams to communicate and interpret customer requirements, develop value propositions and deliver solutions with the end-goal of sales in mind
Able to think critically and suggest improvements, gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements
Support the sales team in delivery of product demonstrations and sales presentations that explain key technical aspects of product solutions that benefit the customers
Provide technical and engineering information on the product and services by responding to customers’ queries and requests for proposals as well as post-sales support
Identify customer service requirements by developing industry relationships and establishing personal rapport with existing and prospect customer decision makers
Additional duties and responsibilities as reasonably requested by the management
Candidate Profile and Requirements
Candidate shall hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Computing) or applied sciences complimented with extensive experience in sales and business development within the Oil & Gas/Chemical/Petrochemical/Refinery industry or consulting services to these sectors
2+ years of sales management experience supervising a team of 3-5 persons
Prior working experience in using CRM systems
Resourceful and organised, with strong people, and time-management skills
Ability to penetrate new markets, quickly comprehend and explain complex engineering concepts in simple and effective terms
Demonstrate effective communication skills exhibiting commercial astuteness and thriving to achieve sales outcomes and high performance expectations
Genuine customer commitment and ability to build sound relationships at all levels of the business, considering a long term perspective in understanding customer needs
Strong customer service ethic and attention to detail
Proficiency inBahasa Malaysian and English is essential
Knowledge of relevant legislations and compliance with local legal requirements
Willing to travel within Peninsular Malaysia & East Malaysia
