Job Description

To manage group accounts, operation, tax and to ensure timely preparation of accurate and reliable Group Consolidated accounts for reporting to the Management, Board and stakeholders, in accordance to the statutory requirements.Group Consolidation – to ensure preparation of timely, accurate and reliable financial information pertaining to the Group’s performance and ensure it is prepared in accordance to the statutory requirements and compliance to the international accounting standards (Financial Reporting Standard). To analyse and validate the financial reports and data, prepare and produce financial variance analysis on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for the segments and Group.Review and analyse the Segment/Subsidiaries performance in relation to the budget on variances (if any) on revenue and/or cost as well as to recommend corrective actions (if any).Prepare Quarterly Announcements for uploading to Bursa Malaysia.Collaborate with external auditors on the annual audit functions through an information-verification process in order to facilitate the preparation of Velesto Energy Berhad’s Audited Financial Statements for incorporation into the Annual Report on a timely manner and compliance to all statutory requirements and standards.Develop and maintain business relationships with external auditors and facilitate Velesto Energy Berhad performance reporting in accordance to their respective requirements.Preparation of finance division and group consolidated annual budget.Develop, analyse, maintain and update an effective database comprising Subsidiaries, and Group information (e.g. Past Financial Performance and Business Units Key Performance Indicators) to facilitate easy reference, comparison and evaluation with the objective of updating Management on trends and track records as well as contributing to Velesto Energy Berhad planning and forecasts.On-going review on the accounting system which are relevant to the environment.Provide technical advice/input to SBU accountants on accounting standards and compliances.Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time. Plan, organize, oversee & coordinate with tax agents & SBU accountants to ensure timely filing of all tax returns. Review/prepare tax computations, tax returns, worksheets & appendices for theTo achieve full compliance with tax laws/regulations and public rulings.Coordinate the preparation of initial & revised tax estimates for companies in the group and apply for the refund &/or offsetting of tax credits timely.Study tax budgets, new tax rulings/changes & their tax implications to Velesto Energy Berhad Group. Issue tax guidelines to effect necessary changes to comply with new laws/rulings & give tax related advice to management, task force & SBU accountants.Provide assistance to SBU accountants in dealing with IRB auditors and attend to all tax queries & tax compliance matters.Provide technical advice/input on cross-border transactions and overseas contracts. Ensure compliance with foreign tax legislations and regulations. Where necessary, work with local & overseas tax consultant for the most tax effective option from tendering stage to execution until project completion.To perform data analysis, data validation, and provide a commentary report to the management for their monitoring purposes as well as to facilitate strategic decision making by Management and the Board.Manage the day to day financial operation and reporting of the operating companies under ones’ care.Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.THE PERSON:Degree in Finance/ Accounting or equivalent with professional qualifications e.g. ACCA/ICAEW/MICPA/CPA AUSTRALIA/CIMA.Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in financial operation and reporting, especially listed entities.Audit experience especially with Big Four is an added advantage.Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes simultaneously manage several projects.Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
