Job Description

Our client is a contractor in the upstream oil & gas industry and they have a few job openings for the Structural Engineer position

This is a 1 year contract(renewable) position and the work location is based in Lumut, Perak

Responsibilities
Review the scope of work of the project; to confirm the expected deliverable is as per the contractCheck the Approved for Construction (AFC) drawings, and raise Request for Clarification (RFC) or Site Technical Query (STQ) for any discrepancies; to ensure the drawings are interpreted accuratelyCommunicate with client on Site Technical Queries (STQ) for electrical related matters, to obtain client’s agreement on the proposed technical solutions to the drawingsCheck materials required and raise Purchase Requisition (PR) based on Material Take-Off (MTO); to ensure sufficient quantity of materials with right technical specification are available during project executionPrepare delta MTO reports related to structural; to ensure sufficient material for installation workInterface with other disciplines to clarify clashes or other engineering disputes; to ensure proper solutions are discussed and agreedPerform Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and liaise with vendor on any technical clarification; to support procurement on vendor selectionAs and when required, attend and witness Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at vendor premises to ensure the materials purchased meet specificationPerform Vendor Data Review (VDR) and Vendor Data Incorporation (VDI); to meet specific requirementsPlan/prepare foundation study, temporary support lifting analysis and load out studyConsolidate data and generate Weight Control Report (WCR) for electrical items; to ensure report is accurate and submitted on a timely mannerPrepare and update Ship Loose Report regularly to confirm items to be installed during offshoreReview equipment dossier; to ensure completeness and timely submission of electrical documentation to DMOAttend meeting with clients for further clarification on engineering related mattersParticipate in project / department safety initiatives and events; to inculcate and promote safety culture

Requirements
Minimum 6 years working experience as an Engineer, preferably in the Oil & Gas Fabrication industryDegree in Civil / Structural Engineering or other related discipline; from recognized higher learning institutionRegistered with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM)Familiar with international codes and standard such as IEC, NEMA and client specification such as PTS, GS, SES, DEP and etcFamiliar with PDMS, BOCAD and other relevant 3D Modelling SoftwareAble to conduct engineering analysis and read engineering drawingsFamiliar with fabrication support activity ie lifting, weighing, loadout and etcAble to use structural analysis software ie STAADProStrong command of spoken and written Malay and EnglishPossess good interpersonal skills and able to interact with various stakeholder internally and externallyPossess an attitude of attention to detailsPossess problem solving abilityAble to work under tight deadline
