Job Description

As a Test Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for executing area resource plans in terms of logistics and indirect piece parts and managing, developing employee performance In this role some of the tasks that need to carried out include exploring continuous improvements activities to assist area management in running the production in a cost efficient and effective manner
You will need to forecast unplanned or ad-hoc staffing and training needs, monitor area performance and provide performance feedback, mentoring, and career development where appropriate Other responsibilities include ensuring a safe work environment by performing regular work area inspections and conducting timely event investigations
You will be working with various engineering and manufacturing groups throughout the company

Responsibilities


Execute Area logistics and indirect pieceparts to support production PlansForecast production logistics and indirect piece parts to ensure production readiness to meet changing and new demandsReview current resource inventory levels is sufficient to meet fluctuations in supply requirementsReview priorities and constraints with capacity planning prior to device start-upsIdentify current inventory levelsExecute Continuous Improvements to Reduce Cost and Simplify Work ProceduresReview bottleneck areas, constraints on existing and new processes or work procedures with support groupsParticipate with Test OWD on documentation pertaining to OJT development and simplifying work proceduresParticipate in projects and assignments with direction coming from managementTrack performance indices such as quality deviations, cycle time and productivityAssist in area production plansParticipate in area layout activities with industrial engineering, equipment and capacity planning groupsForecast ad-hoc staffing and training needs to handle out-of-control situations or new requirementPlan recovery actions to overcome and make arrangements to fill identified gapsMonitor Hot Lots to process to ensure timely execution and notify managementDetermine and request machine conversions based on time, technician availability, proximity, and future needSupport in implementing plans to meet production goals and communicate plans to appropriate support groupsCover the duties of the line supervisor or manager in their absence as and when requiredManage and Develop Employee Performance (if applicable)Monitor performance of employees and provide performance feedback, mentoring, and career development through regular one-on-one meetingsReview appropriate job profile with each employee to clarify supervisor and department expectationsGather data and determine level of employee effectiveness by comparing performance with expectationsProvide feedback/ counseling in an organized and respectful mannerDevelop corrective action plans, as needed, with clear expectations and goals to eliminate recurrence (eg retraining, job analysis) and set a timeline for improvementMaintain employee files that are organized and current including hard copies of signed documentation and attendance recordsCompare current knowledge, skills, abilities, and other attributes with career goals to provide developmental and/or directional feedbackObserve team member work and consistently enforce procedures and work rulesReview TRAIN profiles or TRAIN reports to ensure team members are properly trainedEnsure a Safe Work EnvironmentPerform work area inspections to identify, anticipate and promptly correct hazardsConduct timely event investigations using root cause analysis techniquesConduct BBS observations to improve the safety awareness and the educate the right safety habits or behaviorEncourage hazard identification and safe work practices by giving periodic workplace safety talks
